Volunteers' 4x400 relay team sprints to success with a historic podium finish at the NCAA Indoor Championships, marking one of the program's best performances.

Tennessee's 4x400-meter relay team wrapped up its indoor season on a high note with a podium finish at the NCAA Indoor Championships held at the Randal Tyson Track Center in Fayetteville, Arkansas.

In the thrilling finale of the championships, the Vols' relay squad-comprising Andrew Brown, Calvin Wetsel, Harry Barton, and Saad Hinti-clinched third place. This impressive performance contributed to Tennessee's overall tally of 13 points, securing them the 19th spot in the team standings.

The relay team clocked a remarkable 3:03.73, marking Tennessee's best finish since their third-place showing in 2021 and the second-fastest time in the program's history. The top mark, a blistering 3:02.46, was set earlier this season.

On the women's side, sophomore Mya Straham soared in the pole vault, achieving a height of 4.26 meters (13-11.75) on her second attempt. This outstanding effort earned her Second-Team All-America honors, making her the third Lady Vol to achieve indoor All-America status.

Sophomore JL Van Rensburg made his mark in the national championships with a debut performance in the shot put, earning Second-Team All-America recognition. His 14th-place finish, with a throw of 18.86 meters (61-10.5), adds him to the list of eight Vols who have earned All-America status in indoor shot put.

These achievements reflect a season of dedication and highlight the promising future of Tennessee's track and field program.
