David Gabriel Georges put together the kind of night that makes a box score look almost unreal.
The five-star Tennessee commit powered No. 11 Baylor School past No.
23 Trinity High School (KY) in Louisville on Friday night, piling up five touchdowns in a 35-27 road win. He also ripped through Kentucky’s top high school team for 316 rushing yards on 26 carries, turning Baylor’s season-opening weekend into a showcase for one of the nation’s most explosive backs.
Gabriel Georges was everywhere. He had the power game working, the burst to get loose, and the touch to finish plays once he got into space. One of the signature moments came on his second touchdown, when he hurdled a defender on the way into the end zone.
The scoring binge started early and never really let up. He opened with a 6-yard touchdown run in the first quarter, then added more damage as Baylor kept feeding him the ball. By the time he reached his fourth score, he had accounted for all 28 of Baylor’s points at that stage of the game.
That kind of production backed up what Gabriel Georges had already done earlier this season. Before Friday night, MaxPreps listed him with 445 rushing yards and 65 receiving yards. After the performance in Kentucky, MaxPreps now has him at 750 rushing yards on 75 carries, 12 rushing touchdowns, and 73 receiving yards on six catches.
The numbers may vary slightly depending on the stat source, but the bigger picture is clear: Gabriel Georges has been operating at a different level, and Baylor’s 4-0 start has come with him driving the engine.
247Sports’ Composite Rankings list Gabriel Georges as the No. 9 player in the country, the No. 2 running back in the class, and the No. 1 player from Tennessee. He was also named Max Preps National Player of the Year during the 2025 season.
Tennessee won his commitment in late July after beating out Ohio State and Ole Miss for the elite prospect.

For Tennessee, the encouraging part is the relationship he has already built with coach Kelsey Pope, plus a planned game-day visit that should give the Vols another chance to make a strong impression. Porter has said he wants to have a commitment or at least a shorter list by the end of his junior year, so the next stretch of visits and evaluations could go a long way in deciding whether Tennessee can keep one of its top local priorities close to home.
