Tennessee continues to build momentum on the recruiting trail, this time turning its focus toward a key piece in the trenches. Four-star interior offensive lineman Sean Tatum has locked in an official visit to Knoxville, scheduled for June 12-14, as the Vols look to bolster their 2027 signing class with one of the top linemen in the country.
Tatum, a 6-foot-3, 317-pound powerhouse out of John Carroll Catholic High School in Fort Pierce, Florida, is currently ranked as the No. 8 interior offensive lineman in the 2027 class and the No. 18 overall prospect in the talent-rich state of Florida, according to 247Sports. His blend of size, strength, and mobility makes him a coveted target for programs across the country looking to solidify their offensive fronts for the future.
Tennessee extended an offer to Tatum back on February 24, 2025, and he got his first taste of the game day environment in Knoxville during an unofficial visit for the Vols’ matchup against Oklahoma on November 1, 2025. That visit gave him a firsthand look at the energy inside Neyland Stadium and the direction of Josh Heupel’s program.
While the Vols are making a strong push, Tatum’s recruitment has been heating up for a while. Western Kentucky was the first to offer him back in December 2023, and since then, the list has grown to include a who’s who of Power Five programs.
Among those in pursuit: Miami, Florida State, Florida, South Carolina, Auburn, Texas A&M, Penn State, North Carolina, Ohio State, Arkansas, and Georgia Tech - just to name a few. It’s a crowded field, and Tennessee will need to make a lasting impression during his official visit to stay in the mix.
As of now, Tennessee’s 2027 class features four early commitments: linebacker JP Peace, cornerback Kamauri Whitfield, offensive tackle Princeton Uwaifo, and defensive lineman Kadin Fife. Adding Tatum to that group would be a major step forward in building a balanced class with impact players on both sides of the ball - especially up front, where games are so often won and lost.
Tatum’s visit this summer will be one to watch closely. For Tennessee, it’s a chance to showcase not just the facilities and the fanbase, but the vision for what this offensive line could look like with a player of his caliber anchoring the interior.
