Tennessee Makes Final Cut for Top 2027 Lineman Terrance Smith

Tennessee remains firmly in the hunt for a top 2027 offensive line prospect as recruiting battles heat up across the nation.

Tennessee continues to build momentum in its 2027 football recruiting efforts, and the latest development brings some serious intrigue to the trenches.

Four-star interior offensive lineman Terrance Smith has listed Tennessee among his top seven schools, signaling that the Vols are firmly in the mix for one of the most promising linemen in the upcoming class. Joining Tennessee on Smith’s shortlist are Florida, Auburn, Georgia, LSU, Ohio State, and Rutgers-a who’s who of powerhouse programs all vying for the 6-foot-6, 260-pound mauler out of Lansdale Catholic High School in Pennsylvania.

Smith isn’t just a big body-he’s a technician with upside. Ranked as the No. 12 interior offensive lineman nationally and the No. 9 overall player in Pennsylvania, he’s the type of prospect who can anchor an offensive line for years. At his size, with his mobility and frame, he offers the kind of versatility that college coaches covet-able to play inside with power or potentially slide out if needed.

Tennessee extended Smith a scholarship offer during his only unofficial visit to Knoxville back on March 14, 2025. That early in-person connection could prove pivotal down the stretch, especially as he narrows down his options and begins to think about official visits.

It was Rutgers that got in on Smith first, offering him a scholarship on September 25, 2024, and since then, his offer list has ballooned with interest from across the college football map. The list of Power Four schools that have extended offers reads like a roll call of college football royalty: Alabama, Michigan, Notre Dame, Oregon, Penn State, Florida State, and many more. That kind of attention speaks volumes about Smith’s potential and the kind of impact he could have at the next level.

As for Tennessee, the Vols are already putting together a solid foundation for their 2027 class. They’ve secured commitments from four key pieces: linebacker JP Peace, cornerback Kamauri Whitfield, offensive tackle Princeton Uwaifo, and defensive lineman Kadin Fife. Adding a high-upside interior lineman like Smith would be a major boost-not just in terms of talent, but in continuing to build the kind of physical, SEC-ready roster Tennessee is aiming for.

This recruitment is far from over, but Tennessee’s presence in Smith’s top seven shows they’re in the fight. With a strong visit history and a growing recruiting class, the Vols are positioning themselves well to stay in the mix for one of the top linemen in the 2027 cycle.
