Tennessee is making strategic moves in building its 2027 football signing class, and they're eyeing some top-tier talent. One standout on their radar is Terrance Smith, a four-star interior offensive lineman who's just announced Tennessee among his top five schools. Joining the Volunteers on this coveted list are LSU, Rutgers, Auburn, and Florida.
Smith hails from Lansdale Catholic High School in Pennsylvania and stands an imposing 6-foot-6, 260 pounds. With rankings placing him as the No. 18 interior offensive lineman nationally and the No. 11 player in Pennsylvania, it's clear why he's a hot commodity.
Tennessee extended a scholarship offer to Smith during an unofficial visit back in March 2025. He’s set to return for an official visit on June 12, which could be a pivotal moment in his recruitment journey.
Interestingly, Rutgers was the first to spot Smith's potential, offering him a scholarship in September 2024. Since then, a slew of top programs have followed suit, including Syracuse, Michigan State, and Kentucky, among others. The list reads like a who's who of college football, with heavyweights like Ohio State, Alabama, and Georgia all vying for his commitment.
As it stands, Tennessee's 2027 class already boasts four commitments: linebacker JP Peace, offensive tackle Princeton Uwaifo, defensive lineman Kadin Fife, and quarterback Derrick Baker. Adding Smith to the mix could elevate this class to new heights, as Tennessee looks to solidify its future on the gridiron.
