Tennessee Football Lands Key Summer Visit From Four-Star Tackle Hudson

Tennessee football targets a key piece of its 2027 recruiting puzzle as standout offensive tackle QMari Hudson locks in a summer visit.

Tennessee is already putting in work on its 2027 recruiting class, and one of the names to watch is four-star offensive tackle Q’Mari Hudson. The 6-foot-5, 300-pound lineman out of Western Branch High School in Chesapeake, Virginia, has locked in a visit to Knoxville for June 19-21 - one of just two summer trips currently on his calendar.

The other? A stop at Virginia Tech on May 29.

Hudson made it clear: “Locked in.”

And that’s exactly what Tennessee hopes he’ll be with them down the line.

Hudson is ranked as the No. 29 offensive tackle in the 2027 class and the No. 4 overall player in Virginia, according to 247Sports. He’s a big, athletic presence up front - the kind of player who anchors a line and becomes a foundational piece of a Power Five offense. At 6-5, 300, he already has the size college coaches covet, and schools have taken notice.

Syracuse was the first to extend an offer back on February 12, 2025, but the list has grown quickly and now reads like a who’s who of programs looking to build in the trenches. Hudson holds offers from Old Dominion, Wake Forest, Marshall, East Carolina, Liberty, NC State, West Virginia, Virginia Tech, Maryland, Penn State, Appalachian State, Cincinnati, Kentucky, Pittsburgh and James Madison.

For Tennessee, landing Hudson would be a major win in a region that’s always competitive on the recruiting trail. The Vols are already off to a strong start with their 2027 class, which includes five early commitments: linebacker JP Peace, cornerback Kamauri Whitfield, offensive tackle Princeton Uwaifo, defensive lineman Kadin Fife, and quarterback Derrick Baker.

Adding Hudson to that mix would give Tennessee a second blue-chip offensive tackle in the class and continue to solidify the foundation up front - a priority for any team looking to compete in the SEC. With Hudson’s visit set for June, expect the Vols to roll out the orange carpet and make their pitch loud and clear: there’s a spot for him on Rocky Top.
