Tennessee Volunteers football is making waves in the recruiting scene, as they remain one of the top contenders for a highly sought-after interior offensive line recruit. Four-star prospect Terrance Smith has narrowed his choices down to five schools: Tennessee, LSU, Rutgers, Florida, and Auburn.
Smith, hailing from Lansdale, Pennsylvania, is ranked as the No. 266 player in the 2027 class according to the 247 Composite. His prowess on the field has earned him the No. 14 spot among interior offensive linemen and the No. 9 ranking in Pennsylvania.
Currently attending Lansdale Catholic High School, Smith has lined up visits to four of his five top choices. His recruitment tour kicks off at LSU on April 17, followed by Florida on May 28, Auburn on June 5, and finally, Tennessee on June 12. Notably, there’s no visit scheduled for Rutgers at this time.
The Volunteers are building momentum in the 2027 recruiting cycle, having secured four commitments so far. Among them is four-star offensive lineman Princeton Uwaifo, who leads the pack. However, four-star Kadin Fife is reevaluating his options following changes in the defensive coaching staff.
Joining the ranks are three-star quarterback Derrick Baker and legacy linebacker JP Peace, with expectations for more commitments as the offseason progresses. This follows a stellar 2026 cycle where Tennessee landed the No. 4 recruiting class nationally and No. 2 in the SEC, according to 247 Sports.
The Vols are clearly on a mission to bolster their roster, and landing Smith would be a significant addition to their already promising class.
