Tennessee Football Courts 2028 Quarterback Prospect in Exciting Knoxville Visit

Tennessee eyes the future by hosting talented 2028 quarterback prospect Sam Sollie, signaling continued momentum in their recruiting strategy.

The Tennessee Volunteers are already making waves in the recruiting scene, securing their quarterback for the 2027 class and now setting their sights on the 2028 prospects. Among the buzz is Sam Sollie, a 2028 quarterback who’s eager to visit Knoxville again.

Sollie expressed his excitement about returning to check out Josh Heupel’s program, having previously visited during a game day last October when the Vols faced Arkansas. He also participated in a Tennessee camp back in May 2025.

Sollie's recruitment journey has also taken him to several other prestigious programs, including Alabama, Auburn, Georgia Tech, and Tulane. He recently announced an offer from Samford, adding another option to his growing list.

As it stands, the Vols have yet to secure any commitments for the 2028 class, but with plenty of time left in the cycle, Tennessee is positioning itself as an attractive destination. The program has kicked off the 2027 cycle on a high note, boasting four commitments so far. Leading the charge is four-star offensive lineman Princeton Uwaifo, with four-star Kadin Fife also committed, though Fife is reportedly reassessing his options after some defensive staff changes.

Joining them are three-star quarterback Derrick Baker and legacy linebacker JP Peace. With the offseason underway, more commitments are anticipated as Tennessee continues to build momentum.

Baker is the latest in a series of impressive quarterback recruits under Josh Heupel. The Vols have previously secured talents like five-star Faizon Brandon, four-star George MacIntyre, four-star Jake Merklinger, and five-star Nico Iamaleava, showcasing their prowess in attracting top-tier quarterbacks.

This recruiting success follows Tennessee’s impressive 2026 cycle, where they landed the No. 4 class nationally and No. 2 in the SEC, according to 247Sports. That class featured five-star Brandon, who is now vying for the starting quarterback position this season. The Vols are clearly on a recruiting roll, and the future looks bright in Knoxville.
