Tennessee Divers Stun by Qualifying for National Championships

Tennessee's diving trio makes a splash, advancing to the NCAA 3-meter Championships with standout performances in Athens.

Three Tennessee divers made waves on Day 3 of the Zone B Championships in Athens, Georgia, earning their spots in the NCAA Championships.

Bennett Greene, Thomas Ciprick, and Frazer Tavener showcased their skills in the 3-meter competition. Greene and Ciprick, already qualified for the 1-meter nationals, needed to finish in the top 12 to advance in the 3-meter event.

Greene delivered an impressive performance, finishing second with a combined score of 865.75. Ciprick was hot on his heels, securing third place with 864.05.

Tavener, hailing from New Zealand, also made his mark with a top-five finish, scoring 807.50. He joins the exclusive group of five Vols and Lady Vols heading to the NCAA Championships.

Owen Redfearn competed valiantly but finished 21st with a score of 344.00, just missing the cut for advancement.

All four Vols divers are set to compete in the platform competition on Wednesday, with preliminaries starting at 11:15 a.m. EDT and finals at 1 p.m.
