The buzz is already building around Marshall Manning, a promising quarterback prospect from the class of 2030. As the son of NFL legend Peyton Manning, Marshall has some big shoes to fill, but early signs suggest he's on the right path. His journey to college football could potentially eclipse even that of his cousin Arch Manning, who made headlines with his commitment to the University of Texas in 2023.
Recently, Shayne Pickering shared a clip on X from the Music City Mayhem 7-on-7 event, showcasing Marshall's impressive skills at Oakland High School in Murfreesboro. The brief video highlights a deep completion, underscoring the young QB's development. Pickering noted that Marshall displayed strong velocity and anticipation throughout the day, hinting at a bright future for Baylor School's football program.
While we're still a few years away from Marshall's recruiting class taking center stage, his name is already generating excitement. The 2026 recruiting class has just concluded, and the 2027 cycle is underway, but Marshall’s talent ensures he won’t be overlooked in highlight reels.
Last year, it was reported that Marshall would be transferring to Baylor School in Chattanooga, Tennessee. This move places him just a couple of hours away from Neyland Stadium, where his father’s legacy looms large.
Peyton Manning was spotted at a Baylor vs. McCallie game last October, sitting with former Tennessee baseball coach Tony Vitello, who later became the manager of the San Francisco Giants.
In addition to football, Peyton and Marshall attended a Tennessee vs. Alabama basketball game at the Food City Center in February, further cementing their connection to the Tennessee sports scene.
Interestingly, while Peyton's No. 16 jersey is retired at the University of Tennessee, Marshall donned the iconic number for the 7-on-7 tournament, adding another layer to the Manning family legacy.
