Joe Milton III has found himself at the top of a very specific mountain in Madden NFL 27, and it’s exactly the kind of category you’d expect.
The former Tennessee quarterback and current Dallas Cowboys passer leads all NFL quarterbacks in Throw Power with a perfect 99 rating in the new game. Josh Allen is next at 98, followed by Patrick Mahomes and Caleb Williams at 97. Justin Herbert and Anthony Richardson Sr. sit at 96, Baker Mayfield and Matthew Stafford at 95, and Drake Maye and Aaron Rodgers at 94.
Milton’s overall rating in Madden 27 is 68, which matches his mark from Madden 26. He’s listed as a Scrambler Archetype and comes in with an 86 speed rating, too.

Milton’s real-life NFL sample remains small but notable. In four games with Dallas last season, he completed 15 of 24 passes for 183 yards, one touchdown and two interceptions. That came after his rookie year with the Patriots.
His lone appearance in New England came in the final game of the regular season, and he helped deliver an upset win over the Bills. Milton went 22 of 29 for 241 yards and a touchdown, while also rushing for 16 yards and a score.
Before the NFL, Milton’s path took him from Michigan to Tennessee. He spent 2018 through 2020 with the Wolverines, appearing in four games in each of his first two seasons before starting in five of six appearances in 2020. After that season, he entered the transfer portal and landed at Tennessee for Josh Heupel’s first year.
At Tennessee, Milton won a preseason quarterback battle over Hendon Hooker, but an injury in Week 2 against Pitt changed everything. Hooker stepped in and played well enough to hold onto the starting job.
Milton stayed in the backup role through the rest of the 2021 season and the Vols’ breakout 2022 run. Then, after Hooker tore his ACL in the penultimate game of that year, Milton took over and guided Tennessee to wins at Vanderbilt and against Clemson in the Orange Bowl.
That set him up to start in 2023, his final year of eligibility. Tennessee finished 8-4 overall and 4-4 in the SEC, with Milton throwing for 2,769 yards, 20 touchdowns and five interceptions while adding 292 rushing yards and six scores.
He was then selected by the Patriots in the sixth round of the 2024 NFL Draft.
