Tennessee football’s radio booth is getting a familiar orange-and-white voice.
Jayson Swain, the former Vols receiver, announced Thursday on his Knoxville-area sports talk show that he will join The Vol Network as the color analyst alongside play-by-play man Mike Keith. Swain steps into the role previously held by Ramon Foster, who moved on to do the same job for the NFL’s Tennessee Titans after Dave McGinnis died earlier this year.
For Tennessee fans, Swain is no stranger. He played for the Vols from 2003-06 and built a strong resume in Knoxville, finishing with 126 catches for 1,721 yards and 10 touchdowns in 50 games.
His production peaked in a big way during his final season, when he hauled in 49 passes for 688 yards and scored six touchdowns. As a sophomore in 2004, he caught four touchdown passes.
Those numbers still leave Swain high on Tennessee’s all-time lists. He ranks sixth in program history in receptions and 13th in receiving yards.
After college, Swain went undrafted in 2007 and signed with the Chicago Bears as a free agent, though he did not make the roster.
Keith is entering his second year as the Vols’ play-by-play voice after taking over for Bob Kesling in 2025. Tennessee’s 2026 schedule opens Sept. 5 at home against Furman, with kickoff set for 3:30 p.m.
ET on SEC Network+. The Vols then begin SEC play the next day at home against Texas, with kickoff listed as “Noot ET.”
