Former Vol Nate Ament Hits An Unexpected Rookie Year Snag

Nate Ament transitions into his rookie NBA season with the Milwaukee Bucks by choosing a new jersey number, adapting to a team rich in history.

Nate Ament has settled on the number he’ll wear as he begins his NBA career with the Milwaukee Bucks, and it won’t be the familiar No. 10.

This week, Ament announced that he’ll take the floor in No. 15.

That’s a shift for the 6-foot-10 wing, who built plenty of his recent basketball identity around No. 10.

He wore it at Tennessee during his standout freshman season, and he also had that number in high school and with Team USA. Earlier stops looked different: he wore No. 7 in AAU ball and No. 33 in middle school.

The Bucks didn’t leave him much choice on the number he’d prefer. No. 10 is retired in Milwaukee in honor of Bob Dandridge. Dandridge, who was drafted in 1969, played 618 career games with the Bucks and posted averages of 18.6 points, 7.3 rebounds and 3.2 assists.

Ament’s new number was confirmed on July 6, 2026, with No. 15 now set for his rookie year. It was last worn by Liam Robbins in 2025.

The rookie arrives in Milwaukee after a season that showed off his upside, even with injury forcing him to push through the stretch before the postseason. He finished with 16.7 points per game while shooting 39.9% from the field and 33.3% from 3-point range, and he added 6.3 rebounds and 2.3 assists per game.

Milwaukee made Ament the 13th overall pick in the 2026 NBA Draft, a selection that landed him in the lottery despite projections that had him trending later in the process. He was the Bucks’ second pick of the night, following Brayden Burries out of Arizona at No. 10.

For now, Milwaukee is in the California Classic portion of the preseason, but Ament isn’t on the roster yet. His rights were tied up in the blockbuster Giannis Antetokounmpo trade to the Heat, and once that deal went through, Ament became eligible to be added to the actual Summer League roster.

Tennessee Fans May Finally Get The Jersey Upgrade They Wanted

Tennessee fans have been waiting for a jersey refresh, and the wait appears to be nearly over. The Vols are set to unveil new Adidas jerseys with an online and in-store merchandise drop scheduled for Friday, giving supporters their first real look at what the switch will bring after years of Nike gear.

There is still plenty of curiosity around the details, but early reviews of Adidas college jerseys have pointed to a noticeable step up in feel and finish compared with what fans were used to before. If Tennessees version follows that same path, the upgrade could mean a lighter, more breathable jersey that looks and feels closer to the premium product fans have been asking for, even if the final price tag ends up testing their enthusiasm. Tennessee May Have Found Its Edge For A Five-Star RB

Tennessees push for five-star running back David Gabriel Georges has taken on a more personal feel as the Vols keep working to make their case before his July 22 commitment date. The interest is real on both sides, and Tennessee has clearly built enough of a relationship with Georges that he has been digging deeper into how the program develops backs, including asking for the teams workout training plan.

The competition is still stiff, with Ohio State in the mix, and Tennessee is trying to separate itself in the final stretch by showing Georges what life in Knoxville could look like beyond the recruiting pitch. Even if he leans the Vols way, this one would not be completely settled until the paperwork is signed in December, which leaves Tennessee plenty of reason to keep pressing until the last possible moment.
