Woody Marks Stuns With Rookie Performance, Aiming for Even Greater Success

Rising stars in the AFC, including Texans' Woody Marks and the Titans' strategic new hires, are setting the stage for an exciting season with aspirations beyond individual achievements.

Texans

Woody Marks, the Texans' rookie running back, wrapped up a solid first season with 703 rushing yards and two touchdowns. Marks is all about growth and team success moving forward.

"I think I did decent," Marks shared. "Next year, I just want to refine my skills.

There's always room to improve, and I want to be the best version of myself. No personal goals here-it's all about winning.

I want to get to the Super Bowl and win it."

As the season progressed, Marks noticed the game slowing down for him, allowing him to showcase his skills.

"The speed was intense initially, but it eventually slowed," Marks explained. "I made strides throughout the season, particularly in pass blocking, which some doubted I could do. I even delivered a big hit against the Patriots."

Reflecting on their playoff exit, Marks expressed his disappointment.

"It was tough not reaching the Super Bowl," he admitted. "Any personal success feels empty without team success."

In coaching news, the Texans are bringing in Memphis CB coach Jay Williams as a defensive assistant.

Titans

The Titans have brought Gus Bradley on board as their new defensive coordinator, reuniting him with head coach Robert Saleh after their time together with the 49ers. Bradley is optimistic about Saleh's vision for the team.

"Robert has a clear vision," Bradley noted. "His experience with the Jets has only sharpened it. He's a leader who sets the standard and pace, and I expect the same here."

Defensive tackle T’Vondre Sweat is another focus for the Titans. Bradley is eager to build on Sweat's progress from last season.

"I believe in building on the foundation laid by the previous staff," Bradley said. "We want to give guys like Sweat a fresh start."

As for the cornerback position, Bradley emphasized the importance of scouting players who fit their system.

"We'll show scouts the type of players we want and go after them," he explained.

Bradley also spoke about his decision to join the Titans, citing his strong relationship with Saleh.

"I wanted to be somewhere I'm valued," he said.

On the offensive side, new OC Brian Daboll is tailoring the system to suit QB Cam Ward's strengths.

"We'll focus on what Cam is comfortable with," Daboll stated. "I feel confident in his ability and look forward to working with him."

Daboll praised Ward's toughness and high standards, noting his "moxie" as a quarterback. He also highlighted the youthful talent on the roster, including receivers Elic Ayomanor and Chimere Dike, running backs Tyjae Spears and Tony Pollard, and tackle JC Latham.

"It's a young roster with tough, skilled players," Daboll commented. "I'm excited about what we have."

Daboll is also eager to work with WR Calvin Ridley, recalling their successful stint together at Alabama.

"I'm looking forward to working with Rid again," Daboll said.
