The Tennessee Titans’ joint practice with the Chicago Bears took an unfortunate turn when Wan’Dale Robinson had to leave after taking a hit that head coach Robert Saleh did not shy away from criticizing.
According to Ari Meirov of The33rdTeamFB on X, formerly Twitter, Saleh said Robinson was taken off the field to be evaluated for a concussion and described the contact from a Bears player as “cheap.”

Injuries are part of the game, but the bigger point in these joint sessions is keeping the intensity under control. Over the past few weeks, several teams have mixed it up during joint practices, though those situations did not result in injuries.

This one did not sound like a full-blown scuffle between the Titans and Bears. It appears Robinson’s injury happened during a normal play, which makes the concern even more immediate for Tennessee with the season only a few weeks away.
The Titans are trying to bounce back from last season, and Saleh’s arrival is expected to help shape the team’s culture and push it toward being more competitive. The early focus is on Cam Ward and the offense, with the hope that the quarterback makes a Year 2 leap.
On the other side of the ball, Saleh’s background as a defensive coach should give that unit a boost as well, and it will be worth watching how quickly that improvement shows up.
