After getting their first regular-season win by beating the Indianapolis Colts, the Tennessee Titans head back to Nissan Stadium for a Week 7 matchup with the Cleveland Browns - and they’ve added some depth insurance for a couple of injury concerns.
Tennessee elevated running back Kelel Mullings and wide receiver K.J. Osborn from the practice squad ahead of Sunday’s game. It’s Mullings’ second elevation and Osborn’s first of the season, and the Titans are now using both of their available practice squad call-ups consistently.
Mullings was elevated for the Week 5 game against the Houston Texans, where he logged one carry for three yards and played 15 special teams snaps. His role this week will likely lean heavily toward special teams again, but his late-game carry against Houston - when he got the look over third-string back Julius Chestnut - suggests he could be next in line to help spell Tony Pollard if Tyjae Spears can’t go.
Spears is listed as questionable after being limited at Friday’s practice because of a knee injury.
Osborn’s elevation lines up with Calvin Ridley’s status. Ridley missed practice Thursday and Friday and is questionable with a hip injury. He’s been a major piece of the receiver rotation this season, taking anywhere from the second-most to the fourth-most snaps among Titans wideouts in a game.
If Ridley is inactive, Osborn would likely share WR4 snaps with Chimere Dike, while Elic Ayomanor would move into the clear WR3 role.
The Titans and Browns kick off at 1 PM EST/12 PM CST on Sunday at Nissan Stadium, with CBS airing the game.

Titans Rework Alontae Taylor After Benching Him For A Bigger Need
Alontae Taylors path back into the Titans defensive mix has taken on a different shape this week, with Robert Saleh testing him in slot corner rotations during practice after he was a healthy scratch in a recent game. The move reflects a practical adjustment as Tennessee keeps sorting through the best way to use Taylors skill set, and it comes after the defense held up well without him in the lineup.
Saleh has been encouraged by Taylors effort in working toward the nickel role and by the way he responded to the benching. The coaching staff is now looking at whether that versatility can help stabilize the secondary, a consideration that makes Taylors next opportunity feel a little more open-ended than it did just a few days ago. Titans Win Changed Nothing About One Tough Deadline Decision
The Titans finally got into the win column, but one victory has not changed the bigger picture as the trade deadline draws near. At 1-5, Tennessee is still looking at a steep climb to stay relevant in the playoff race, and the franchise has to weigh whether this season is about squeezing out a few more wins or continuing to stockpile assets for the future.
That puts some of the rosters most recognizable names in a difficult spotlight. Jeffery Simmons, Amani Hooker, Tony Pollard and Alonte Taylor all profile as players who could draw interest if the Titans decide draft capital matters more than holding the current group together, and their value only becomes more complicated because of where they stand contractually. For a team in the middle of a rebuild, the next move may say a lot more about the long term than the result of last Sunday did. [Read more 🡒]
Titans Just Got A Tougher Week 7 Test In Cleveland
Clevelands Week 7 outlook looks a little sturdier heading into its matchup with Tennessee, with the Browns getting some important pieces back on both sides of the ball. Running back Dylan Sampson has been activated from injured reserve, safety Grant Delpit has cleared concussion protocol and is available, and Quinshon Judkins is also healthy and expected to play.
For the Titans, that adds a layer of difficulty to a road test that was already going to demand discipline. Clevelands returning depth gives the Browns more options as they try to hold onto their AFC North lead, and it means Tennessee will have to prepare for a healthier, more complete opponent than it might have faced earlier in the week.
