The NFL draft is just around the corner, and the Tennessee Titans are putting the finishing touches on their strategy, aiming for another successful selection. General Manager Mike Borgonzi's efforts in 2025 brought in key talent, setting the stage for a promising 2026. With quarterback Cam Ward leading the charge, the Titans are on an upward trajectory.
This year's draft, however, holds the potential to be even more transformative for the Titans. NFL analyst Pete Prisco from CBS Sports speculates that Borgonzi is eyeing a fortified defensive front in his first 2026 mock draft.
Round 1 - Pick 4: Rueben Bain Jr., EDGE
The Titans have already bolstered their defense through free agency, and adding Rueben Bain Jr. could be the final piece to enhance their front four. Bain is an intriguing prospect, though his arm length at the NFL Scouting Combine raised some eyebrows, ranking among the shortest for defensive edges.
Despite this, his performance on tape speaks volumes. The upcoming Pro Day will be crucial as scouts and teams will be eager to see if his measurements align with those from the combine.
Positioning Bain alongside Jeffery Simmons and John Franklin-Myers could be a game-changer for the Titans' defense. While some might point out the similarities between Bain and Franklin-Myers, arguing for a different skill set, Prisco’s mock draft suggests that with top prospects Arvell Reese and David Bailey already selected, Bain would be an excellent choice if the Titans prioritize defense.
