Blaine Bishop’s run at 104.5 The Zone is over.
The former Titans safety is no longer co-hosting Cover Two with Zach Lyons, bringing an end to a stretch at the Nashville station that began in January 2010. Bishop had been on the air daily from 1-3 p.m. with Lyons, and his last appearance on the show came last Thursday, Oct. 15.
Bishop’s time at The Zone went far beyond Cover Two. He joined the station in January 2010 as part of 3HL and also spent years on the Titans’ flagship station’s pre- and postgame programming.
The station has also made changes to the show’s online presence. It removed Bishop’s photo from the Cover Two web page, along with the show archives, before later restoring the archives.
Pictures of talent from other shows were also pulled so those pages would match, with logos used instead. Another Cover Two page is now a dead link.
Bishop and Lyons did not respond to text messages. Allison Warren, vice president and market manager for Cumulus Media, who oversees The Zone, also did not return texts.
A former NFL defender with a long track record in Tennessee, Bishop played 10 seasons in the league - nine with the Oilers/Titans franchise and one with Philadelphia. He was selected to four Pro Bowls.
Since Friday, producer Ross Johnston has been filling in for Bishop on Cover Two.
The Zone’s on-air lineup was in New York on Tuesday for the Marconi Awards, where the station and its podcast The Install with Greg Cosell were nominated but did not win.
On social media, Dawn Davenport of 3HL posted a group photo that did not include Bishop. “We did not win our Marconi, but we still have THE best team at @1045TheZone ❤️ @TheRonSlay @brentdougherty @TheZachLyons @Robby_Walsh @BuckReising @will_boling @lucaspanzica @RamonFoster @Mase1045TheZone https://t.co/i2fG2Pjkq7”

Titans Suddenly Face A Real Question About Alontae Taylor
A quiet but notable subplot emerged before Tennessees game against Indianapolis when Robert Saleh made the call to bench starting cornerback Alontae Taylor as part of a reset. Saleh framed the move as a way to help Taylor adjust to life as an outside corner in the teams defensive system, and Taylor took the news in stride, acknowledging the decision while stressing his motivation to adapt and improve.
For the Titans, the situation raises a real roster and development question at a position that has been under the microscope all season. It also landed on a day when there was some good news elsewhere, with Julius Chestnut earning AFC Special Teams Player of the Week honors for his punt block, while the team continued sorting through injury updates and practice participation ahead of the matchup. Titans Could Make A Painful Deadline Choice Fans Knew Was Coming
At 1-5, the Titans are once again staring at the kind of deadline that usually forces a hard reset, and this time the conversation is not about buying help but about deciding which veterans still fit the long view. The reported stance is clear enough: outside of the rookie class, Cam Ward and Jeffery Simmons, just about everyone else can be discussed if the return helps Tennessee build draft capital before the Nov. 10 deadline.
That makes the next two weeks worth watching around players like Calvin Ridley, Tony Pollard and Cody Barton, all of whom could draw different levels of interest depending on what a contender needs. Ridley has been linked to the Rams, Pollard has been tied to the Bengals and Barton has been floated to the Bills, but those are only speculative fits for now, the sort of deadline chatter that says as much about where the Titans are headed as it does about where these veterans might land. Former Titans Are Giving Tennessee Fans Mixed Feelings Right Now
The Titans finally got a win to open the 2026 season, beating the Colts, but plenty of the postgame buzz around Tennessee has been tied to former players now scattered across the league. Chig Okonkwo and Treylon Burks have been part of the conversation with Washington, where one has flashed in a recent breakout while the other has run into another injury, a reminder of how uneven the ex-Titans track has become.
There has been some mixed emotion attached to the Patriots, too, where Mike Vrabel has guided New England to three straight wins and A.J. Brown made his return to the lineup but did not have the kind of efficient outing that usually comes with his name. Elsewhere, TVondre Sweat and Jarvis Brownlee have been largely quiet with the Jets, leaving Tennessee fans with a familiar blend of pride, frustration and what-if as they watch the old roster branches keep developing.
