The Tennessee Titans are set to open a season built around one big theme: saying goodbye to Nissan Stadium.
With the team’s farewell season beginning at the opener against the Jets, Tennessee is marking the final run at the building it has called home since 1999. The games will move to the new Nissan Stadium when it opens in 2027.
“This beautiful stadium has been our home since 1999, and we thought we’d send it over in the way it deserves,” Titans Senior Vice President of Brand Marketing Erin Swartz said. “We’ve got some incredible plans all season long to celebrate, but most importantly for us, it’s about getting families and fans one last chance to be in this building.”
The Titans are leaning into the memories that have defined the stadium’s run, from signature moments to the players whose names still hang around the venue.
“You take the moments that are the Music City Miracle, you remember the greats that are Steve McNair and Eddie George that are on the side of our building today, and we want that same energy and want to transform into something that is great as we welcome this new generation of Titans fans, this new team out on the field, and then ultimately into the new stadium,” Ashley Stokley, Titans Head of Stadium, Operations & Experience, said.
The farewell season will also come with new touches for fans. The team store will carry merchandise created to commemorate the final year at Nissan Stadium, along with the new “Rivalries” uniforms. On the food side, Legends and Levy are rolling out items including “Piggy Mac n Cheese” and “Tailgate Chili Dogs,” while local vendors such as Christie Cookies and 8th & Roast will also be part of the experience.
Chris Johnson will be inducted into the Ring of Honor during halftime.
