The Tennessee Titans enter Week 6 as one of the NFL’s three winless teams, and Sunday brings a divisional chance to change that against the Indianapolis Colts.
It has not been the start first-year head coach Robert Saleh hoped for. The Titans were expected to at least hang around after an active offseason, but that has not shown up often enough through five games. Saleh is not the one calling the offensive plays, but the results still land on his shoulders when the season starts slipping.
ESPN’s Ben Solak sees a path for Tennessee to finally break through this weekend. He laid out three possible Week 6 outcomes and included the Titans as a team that could grab its first victory, and do it against an AFC South opponent.
" I'm worried about what I'm seeing in Indianapolis, where quarterback Daniel Jones still looks stiff in the pocket and uncertain driving the football. Arden Key is now on injured reserve, making the league's weakest edge rushing room even weaker.
And the lack of healthy wide receivers behind Josh Downs allows opposing defenses to key in on running back Jonathan Taylor. The Colts are gettable; the Titans are desperate.
Expect a close one."
The Colts come into the game at 2-3 after a 34-22 loss to Aaron Rodgers and the Pittsburgh Steelers last week. Injuries at receiver have been an issue for Indianapolis, and the pass rush has taken another hit with former Titan Arden Key landing on IR. That sets up a possible opening for Tennessee in a game that could finally produce the first win of the Saleh era.
There is also a glaring statistical mismatch that favors the Titans if their offense can take advantage. Tennessee ranks last in the league in total yards gained at 246.4 per game, but Indianapolis has the NFL’s fifth-worst defense, allowing 384 yards per game. If Brian Daboll, Cam Ward and the rest of the Titans offense cannot find something against that kind of setup, the outlook only gets darker from here.
For a fan base that has already been through five losses - some close, some not - Sunday feels like the kind of game that needs to turn. If the Titans don’t get it done here, the question of when the first win arrives starts getting a lot harder to answer.

Titans Just Sent A Brutal Message About Their $66 Million Signing
The Titans secondary will look different again in Week 6, and not in the way anyone expected when Alontae Taylor arrived on a three-year, $66 million deal this offseason. Tennessee has made the cornerback inactive, turning a high-profile signing into a healthy scratch just five games into the season. It is a sharp move for a team still sorting out its defensive identity and a reminder that money alone does not guarantee a steady role.
With Taylor out, the Titans will lean on Cordale Flott, Joshua Williams, Jaylon Jones and Micah Robinson to handle the cornerback work in the upcoming game. For a defense trying to find the right mix on the back end, the decision leaves one of the offseasons biggest additions on the sideline and opens the door for others to seize snaps in a hurry. Titans Just Pushed The Colts Into An Ugly New Debate
The Colts walked out of Nashville with more questions than answers after letting a 13-point halftime lead slip away in a 26-20 loss to the Titans, and the fallout has quickly turned inward. Shane Steichen was pressed about whether changes could be coming to his coaching staff, a natural line of inquiry after a game that featured turnovers, special teams mistakes and the loss of tight end Tyler Warren to injury, all while Indianapolis failed to close out a division road game it seemed to have under control.
Steichen said he is reviewing everything, but for now he remains satisfied with his staff and also confirmed Daniel Jones is still the starting quarterback. Even so, the loss has pushed the Colts into a familiar and uncomfortable debate about accountability and where the fixes need to start, with Tennessee's comeback serving as the latest reminder that close games can expose every weak spot at once. Titans Flipped A Lost Colts Game In A Way Fans Wont Forget
The Titans finally found the breakthrough they had been chasing, and they did it in a way that fit the chaos of their season. Down 13-0 at halftime against the Colts, Tennessee leaned on defense and special teams to claw back into the game, flipping the momentum with a 58-yard punt return and a blocked punt returned for a touchdown before Joey Slye delivered a late 49-yard field goal.
It was the kind of turnaround that can linger in a locker room, especially for a team trying to get its footing early in the year. Tennessees 26-20 win was its first of the season, and while the offense did just enough, it was the hidden yards and the timely stops that changed the script against Indianapolis and gave the Titans a result fans will remember.
