Titans Face A Cam Ward Dilemma In Marvin Harrison Jr. Debate

As the Tennessee Titans desperately seek improvement, speculation swirls around a potential low-risk trade for wide receiver Marvin Harrison Jr. to bolster their faltering offense.

The Tennessee Titans are still trying to sort out what this rebuild is supposed to look like, and the results have not arrived nearly fast enough. A 2026 season that was supposed to bring some forward movement has opened with an 0-3 start under Robert Saleh, and while there’s still time to turn it around, adding young talent would hardly be the wrong instinct.

That’s why Marvin Harrison Jr. has entered the conversation.

The third-year wide receiver and former fourth overall pick has gotten off to a slow start with the Arizona Cardinals, and that has sparked talk that Arizona could eventually move on. ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler reported that multiple teams are exploring the trade market for Harrison, with a day-three pick floated as the expected return. For a selection in the fourth through seventh round, especially if it’s only one pick, the question becomes pretty simple: what does Tennessee really have to lose?

There’s a clear case for the move. Harrison’s rough patch feels tied to circumstance as much as anything else.

Jacoby Brissett has been the main quarterback getting him the ball lately, and some inconsistency comes with that territory. The talent is still obvious, and Harrison already flashed it in 2024 when Kyler Murray was under center, putting up 885 yards and eight touchdowns.

That kind of production looked like the start of a steady climb, not a finished product. The upside is still there. The problem is whether Tennessee is actually the place that can bring it out.

That’s where the Cam Ward issue comes in. On paper, Harrison lining up with Carnell Tate and Wan’Dale Robinson sounds like a good idea. But Ward has struggled to connect with those targets downfield, and adding another developmental receiver does not solve the quarterback’s own issues.

Ward’s inability to find open players, along with his reluctance to push the ball deep, is a big reason the Titans are sitting winless. The former first overall pick looks nothing like the player he was last season.

From Tennessee’s side, Harrison would still qualify as a classic buy-low swing. He would deepen an already strong receiver room and bring in a 6'3", big-bodied target who still hasn’t come close to reaching his ceiling. At the very least, he would be another intriguing piece.

Still, this is just a hypothetical for now. No specific team has been named in the talks, and even if Tennessee fits the profile, there’s a real question about whether Harrison would only make Ward’s problems worse in the pocket.

It’s a risk worth considering. Whether the Titans are the team willing to take it is another matter, and we’ll have to see if they get involved.

Titans Suddenly Have A New Offensive Line Problem Before Ravens Game

The Titans offensive line took another hit this week, and it comes at an especially inconvenient time. Tennessee placed right guards Fernando Carmona and Jackson Slater on injured reserve after both underwent surgery, leaving the team with two more unavailable pieces inside as it turns its attention to Baltimore.

Garrett Dellinger was promoted from the practice squad to the active roster to help fill the gap, but the move only underscores how thin the Titans are getting at right guard. With the Ravens on deck in Week 4, Tennessee now has a fresh protection problem to sort out before it can even get to game-planning for one of the leagues tougher fronts. [Read more 🡒]

Tony Pollard Could Be Headed Back Into A Contender's Plans

The Titans slow start has only sharpened the attention on what they do next, and Tony Pollard has already become part of that conversation. Tennessee is 0-3 and searching for answers on offense, which has made every move around the roster feel a little more consequential as the season gets underway.

ESPNs Dan Graziano raised the possibility that Pollard could surface as a trade candidate if he stays healthy and the Titans are not planning to extend him. If that path opens, a number of contenders could take notice, with the Saints, Vikings and Packers all mentioned as potential suitors looking to add a proven back into their plans. [Read more 🡒]

Titans Backfield Uncertainty Just Grew Ahead Of Ravens Game

Tyjae Spears was back on the practice field in a limited capacity this week, giving the Titans a small but important update as they prepare for a Week 4 trip to face the Ravens. Spears has been working back from an ankle injury, and his return to practice at least keeps him in the conversation as Tennessee sorts through its backfield plan for one of the tougher matchups on the schedule.

Robert Saleh still stopped short of saying Spears is ready to go, noting the running back has to clear a few more hurdles before his status can be finalized. If Spears is unable to play, Tony Pollard would be positioned for a bigger workload, leaving the Titans with another layer of uncertainty as they try to stabilize an offense that could use every healthy option it can get.
