The Tennessee Titans are still searching for their first win, and Week 4 sends them into Baltimore with another tough ask. Tennessee is 0-3 in Robert Saleh’s first season, and the trip to face the 2-1 Ravens comes against a team that has already shown it can pile up points in a hurry.
There is at least one path for the Titans to make this interesting: stop the run. That’s the assignment every week against Lamar Jackson and Derrick Henry, and it matters even more here. Henry is set for his first game against Tennessee since leaving after the 2024 season, and Baltimore’s offense has already flashed the kind of balance that can overwhelm teams when the ground game gets rolling.
The Titans do have one encouraging comparison on their side. Their best run defense performance this year came against the Eagles in Week 2, when Philadelphia was held to 89 rushing yards.
By contrast, the Jets and Giants each went over 100 against Tennessee, finishing with 152 and 138 yards on the ground. If Saleh’s defense can again make life difficult in that area, it at least gives Tennessee a shot to slow the Ravens’ rhythm.
But the margin for error is tiny, and the offense has not given Tennessee much to work with. Cam Ward has been slow out of the gate, and the Titans have scored only 20 points on time this season.
Last Sunday’s seven-point outing in the loss to the Giants only sharpened the concern. If Baltimore jumps ahead early, Tennessee may not have the firepower to answer.
That’s the biggest reason this matchup leans the wrong way for the Titans. Jackson and the Ravens have already scored 30 or more points in two of their three games, and Baltimore just put up 34 in a win over the Cowboys. Tennessee would need Ward to play his best game yet just to keep pace with a two-time MVP, and that hasn’t been the trend so far.
Jeffery Simmons and Anthony Hill Jr. should help Tennessee hold up defensively for stretches, but the offense feels like the limiting factor. If Ward heats up or the Titans force a turnover or two, there’s at least a door open. Their best blueprint would be to mirror what worked against Philadelphia in Week 2.
Still, the combination of Baltimore’s current form and the home crowd makes this a steep climb. The Titans have to win eventually, but this feels like another week where the gap is just too wide. The prediction here: Baltimore by two touchdowns, with Tennessee dropping a fourth straight.
