The Tennessee Titans are entering a new era with Robert Saleh at the helm as head coach. With a projected league-high $104 million in cap space this offseason, the Titans are primed to reshape a roster that has seen just three wins in each of the last two seasons.
Saleh, known for his defensive expertise, is likely to focus on bolstering the offense to support young quarterback Cam Ward. One intriguing target in free agency is Indianapolis Colts receiver Alec Pierce. ESPN's Matt Bowen recently highlighted Pierce as an ideal fit for the Titans, ranking him sixth among top free agents and second among receivers.
With George Pickens expected to receive the franchise tag from the Dallas Cowboys, Pierce could emerge as the top wide receiver available. Bowen argues that Pierce’s skill set aligns perfectly with Tennessee's needs under new offensive coordinator Brian Daboll.
Pierce's ability to stretch the field vertically and serve as a multilevel target could be a game-changer for Ward. Last season, Pierce led the league with an impressive 21.3 yards per catch.
The Titans would be wise to pursue Pierce aggressively. During his four-year stint with the Colts, Pierce proved himself as a reliable big-play threat, amassing 157 receptions for 2,934 yards and 17 touchdowns.
Notably, he topped the NFL in yards per catch for two consecutive seasons, with 22.3 in 2024 and 21.3 in 2025. His first 1,000-yard season came last year, with 1,003 yards in just 15 games.
Tennessee's wide receiver corps struggled last season, with tight end Chigoziem Okonkwo leading the team with only 560 receiving yards, followed by three rookies. The team also faced issues with dropped passes. Adding a consistent performer like Pierce could significantly enhance Cam Ward's options and elevate the Titans' offensive game.
