The Giants left Los Angeles with more than a lopsided loss. They also had a fresh pile of injury concerns, with Malik Nabers and Brian Burns both offering updates after Monday night’s 28-6 defeat to the Rams.
Nabers, who briefly sparked alarm when he appeared to hurt his right shoulder in the second quarter, returned to the game later in the period. Afterward, he tried to calm things down.
"My shoulder is OK," Nabers insisted, per Jordan Raanan of ESPN. "I'm going to get an X-ray on it to see what is going on.
But when I was out there, we had just lost [Dart], so I didn't want to give the team another loss. So I went back in.
Just tried to see what I can do."
The wideout’s night was quiet from there. He finished with one catch for one yard on four targets.
That came after a much better opening to the season, when he posted six receptions for 69 yards in the Giants’ 28-20 Week 1 win over the rival Dallas Cowboys on Sept. 13.
Nabers also said last week that he still felt "rusty" while trying to get back to his top level after the torn ACL and torn meniscus he suffered on Sept. 28, 2025.
Burns’ situation sounded less alarming, even if it still left him in obvious discomfort. The Giants pass-rusher, who has not recorded a sack this season, left the stadium in a boot and needed a golf cart to reach the team buses after suffering a low ankle sprain late in the loss.
John Flanigan of SNY noted that it remains unclear whether Burns will be available when the 1-1 Giants host the 0-2 Tennessee Titans on Sept. 27.
"It eased my mind to know it wasn't anything serious," Burns said after the game. "I've dealt with this.
It depends on how fast you get the swelling and inflammation down. So I'm going to do everything possible to get this as tamed as I can."
The Giants were already bracing for more bad news. Dart suffered a sprained MCL on Monday and reportedly will miss at least two games, while left tackle Andrew Thomas is now dealing with a groin injury. Thomas’ status for the Titans game was still unknown as of early Tuesday morning.
