Reed Blankenship joins the Texans under coach DeMeco Ryans, while the Titans make significant roster moves to enhance their competitiveness.

Texans Welcome Reed Blankenship

The Houston Texans have bolstered their defense by signing safety Reed Blankenship to a three-year deal. After a stint with the Falcons, Blankenship was drawn to Houston by the persuasive pitch from head coach DeMeco Ryans.

Blankenship shared, "DeMeco reached out, and it was clear how much he valued me as both a player and a person. It’s refreshing to feel genuinely wanted.

His vision for the team and the culture they’re building in Houston had me sold immediately. I’m thrilled to be part of this journey and believe I’ve found the perfect spot to continue my career."

Joining a defense he already admired, Blankenship is eager to contribute. "Watching Houston's defense in action, I was impressed by their intensity and cohesion," he said.

"Being asked to join that kind of unit is a huge compliment. My goal is to bring a sense of calm and clear communication on the field, allowing everyone to play with freedom and aggression.

I've always been coached with an old-school mentality-just go out there and hit. I’m excited to connect with my new teammates and build something special."

He sees immense potential in the Texans' secondary, adding, "The talent here is undeniable, and I feel like we can reach new heights. Everyone’s committed to winning, and you can sense that energy in the building. I can’t wait to get started and forge strong relationships with these guys."
