Tennessee Titans Sign Two-Time Super Bowl Winner Joshua Williams

Former HBCU standout Joshua Williams brings his Super Bowl-winning experience to the Tennessee Titans with a promising two-year deal.

Joshua Williams, a former standout at Fayetteville State University, is bringing his talents to Tennessee after a successful stint with the Kansas City Chiefs. Williams, who played a key role in Kansas City's Super Bowl victories, has inked a two-year deal with the Titans, securing $2.5 million in guaranteed money.

Williams' journey to the NFL is one for the history books. As a top defensive back in the Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association, he made waves at Fayetteville State, racking up 79 tackles, 21 pass breakups, and five interceptions-one of which he returned for a touchdown. His impressive college career led to a historic moment in the 2022 NFL Draft when he became the first HBCU player selected, going in the fourth round to the Chiefs.

Landing with Kansas City proved fortuitous, as Williams became part of a team in its Super Bowl prime. Over four seasons, he contributed significantly to the Chiefs' defense, accumulating 92 tackles, defending 18 passes, and snagging an interception in 12 starts. His knack for clutch plays was on full display during the 2022 AFC Championship Game, where his fourth-quarter interception of Joe Burrow helped seal a trip to the Super Bowl.

Now, Williams is set to bring his defensive prowess to a Titans squad in the midst of a rebuild. With Tennessee selecting Cam Ward as the top pick in the 2025 NFL Draft, Williams' experience and playmaking ability could be pivotal as the Titans look to forge a new path forward.
