Tennessee Titans' new head coach, Robert Saleh, recently shared his insights at the AFC coaches breakfast during the NFL annual league meeting. Saleh covered a range of topics, from current players to the upcoming draft, and even touched on his relationship with Jacksonville Jaguars head coach, Liam Coen.
While Saleh's comments were broad, his thoughts on draft prospects and the Titans' current position sparked interest, especially with the draft just weeks away. As expected during this pre-draft period, specifics were scarce, but his perspective was telling.
Naturally, the conversation kicked off with questions about the top draft picks and the Titans' strategy.
“When you look at the gamechangers at the top of the draft, whether it’s the three big pass rushers everyone’s buzzing about or Jeremiyah Love, these are players who can turn a game on its head with a single play,” Saleh remarked. “They’re impactful players.”
A follow-up question addressed the age of these prospects, which drew an intriguing response from Saleh.
“It really comes down to whether we think a player has reached their peak. Are we seeing someone who can still grow, or has this player, given their age, already hit their ceiling?”
Saleh explained. “When evaluating older prospects, each player is unique in what they might achieve moving forward.”
While Saleh's draft-related comments may not have provided concrete details, it’s evident that he and General Manager Mike Borgonzi are keenly focused on enhancing the Titans' roster with fresh talent.
