Christopher Carson was taken into custody in Hendersonville after a tense standoff with law enforcement, according to the Sumner County Sheriff’s Office. Deputies located Carson at a residence, where he reportedly barricaded himself inside for several hours before eventually being arrested without further incident.
Carson was facing multiple active warrants in both Tennessee and Georgia. In Georgia, he was wanted for failure to register as a sex offender. In Tennessee’s Dickson County, the charges included violation of an order of protection, multiple sex offender registration violations, and residential violations.
Sumner County Sheriff Eric Craddock praised the response of his deputies, calling out their professionalism and restraint during what could have been a volatile situation. “Their patience, training and sound decision-making ensured this suspect was taken into custody without incident,” Craddock said in a statement. He also acknowledged the support of the Hendersonville Police Department, highlighting the importance of interagency cooperation in bringing the situation to a peaceful resolution.
