Dolphins Cut Tyreek Hill and Chubb in Bold Offseason Shakeup

The Dolphins shake up their roster with high-profile cuts ahead of free agency, setting off a wave of speculation around potential landing spots.

The NFL offseason hasn’t officially kicked off yet, but the Miami Dolphins are already making waves-and not the kind they had in mind when they built this roster. In a flurry of roster moves, the Dolphins have parted ways with several notable names: wide receiver Tyreek Hill, edge rusher Bradley Chubb, guard James Daniels, and wide receiver Nick Westbrook-Ikhine.

Let’s start with the headline: Tyreek Hill. Once the league’s most electrifying playmaker, Hill is now at a career crossroads.

He’s approaching 31, coming off a significant knee injury, and carrying a complicated off-field history. When Hill was at his peak, defenses had to account for him on every snap-his speed alone could tilt the field.

But with age, injury, and baggage mounting, the risk now outweighs the reward for teams looking to add receiver help. The Tennessee Titans, for example, are in dire need of speed on the perimeter, but Hill doesn’t look like the answer anymore.

Bradley Chubb, however, is a different story. He’s not the All-Pro force he once projected to be, but he’s still productive-8.5 sacks last season prove that.

At 30 years old this summer, Chubb probably isn’t a long-term solution, but for a team like the Titans, who are desperate for pass-rushing help off the edge, he’s worth a serious look. The Titans have lacked consistent pressure from the outside, and Chubb could provide a veteran presence with enough juice left in the tank to make an impact.

If Tennessee GM Mike Borgonzi is serious about shoring up the defense, placing a call to Chubb’s camp makes all the sense in the world.

Then there’s James Daniels. The veteran guard signed a big deal last offseason but barely saw the field-he went down with an injury in Week 1 and never returned.

Still, Daniels has a solid track record when healthy, and the Titans happen to have a glaring need at right guard. If Daniels checks out medically, he could be a low-risk, high-reward option for a team looking to stabilize the offensive line.

The Titans need to protect their quarterback better in 2026, and Daniels could be part of that solution.

Lastly, Nick Westbrook-Ikhine. Titans fans know the name well.

After a career-best season in Tennessee in 2024-hauling in nine touchdowns-he signed a two-year deal with Miami. Now back on the market, he offers steady depth and familiarity with the Titans’ system.

But given the team’s current direction and needs at receiver, a reunion seems unlikely. Westbrook-Ikhine is a reliable piece, but the Titans appear to be aiming for a different type of playmaker in their receiving corps.

Bottom line: the Dolphins are clearing house, and while not every name they’ve cut is a fit for the Titans, there are a couple worth kicking the tires on. Chubb and Daniels, in particular, could fill immediate needs if the price and health check out. The offseason hasn't officially begun, but the roster reshuffling is already underway-and for teams like Tennessee, every cut is a potential opportunity.
