When the lanes lit up at Thunder Alley Family Entertainment Center for the TSSAA State Individual Boys Region 6 Bowling Qualifier, a pair of perfect games stole the show-and punched tickets to the state stage in style.
Dickson County High’s Aiden Pewitt was locked in from the start. He rolled a flawless 300 game, the pinnacle of individual bowling performance, and capped off a dominant six-game series with a total score of 1387.
That was good enough for second place overall and a spot in January’s state individual tournament. Pewitt didn’t just qualify-he made a statement.
Right behind him were two more standouts from Creek Wood High. Abe Monosmith posted a 1358 to finish fourth, while Landon Corbin wasn’t far behind with a 1324, locking up fifth place. All three bowlers earned their way into the state tournament, and they did it with poise under pressure.
But the action didn’t stop there.
Shortly after the qualifier, Dickson County and Creek Wood squared off in a regular-season finale that had a little bit of everything. The teams split the day, with Dickson County’s girls’ squad taking a 17-10 win, while Creek Wood’s boys answered back with a 16-11 victory of their own.
And just like Pewitt earlier in the week, Monosmith delivered his own perfect game during the boys’ match-his 300 helping power Creek Wood to the win. Two 300s in one week, from two schools in the same region? That’s not just rare-it’s remarkable.
Next up: the District Bowling Tournament, with the girls set to roll on Tuesday and the boys following on Thursday. With the kind of momentum these athletes are carrying, expect the pins to keep flying-and maybe even a few more perfect games before it’s all said and done.
