Liberty Creek has announced the hiring of Chloee Hernandez as their new volleyball coach, marking a new chapter for the Wolves. Hernandez steps in to replace Aubrey Ficek, who led the program since its inception.
Hernandez, formerly known as Chloee McDaniel, brings a rich volleyball background. She made her mark at Beech High School and became Missouri State's first beach volleyball signee. Her journey continued with indoor volleyball at Trevecca and wrapped up her playing career in beach volleyball at Austin Peay in 2023.
"I'm incredibly passionate about building culture and community," Hernandez shared. "Whether it's a college program or a club, I want to be part of something special. The opportunity at Liberty Creek was exciting."
After her playing days, Hernandez transitioned into coaching, starting as an assistant at Trevecca and later at Lincoln Memorial University in 2024. Most recently, she directed beach and boys volleyball at C2 Attack Volleyball Club in Hendersonville.
Ficek, who resigned in December, leaves behind a legacy of success. Under her guidance, Liberty Creek captured two district championships and reached the region tournaments three times in four seasons.
"I always strive to give 110 percent," Ficek explained. "With my increasing workload, I couldn't provide the girls with the attention they deserved.
I'm grateful for the opportunity to have been the first coach here and for the support from the administration, parents, and players. They truly made the program what it is today."
The Wolves wrapped up their 2025 season with a 19-16 overall record and a 9-1 mark in District 9-AA, though they faced a tough exit in the district semifinals against Westmoreland.
Hernandez's volleyball roots run deep. Her mother, Christine McDaniel, founded C2 Attack Volleyball, and her siblings have played at various collegiate levels. Her twin sisters, Rylee and Ellee, currently coach at Beech High School, where the family has strong ties.
"I'd love to coach alongside my sisters," Hernandez said. "They're doing amazing things at Beech, where we all graduated.
We have a younger sister playing there too. We're a competitive family, and I look forward to facing them on the court.
Growing the game of volleyball is our shared passion."
With Hernandez at the helm, Liberty Creek is poised for an exciting new era, building on the foundation laid by Ficek. Fans can anticipate a blend of tradition and fresh energy as the Wolves continue to evolve.
