TCU’s 2026 season opener in Dublin is still days away, but the countdown already has a familiar theme attached to it. With 3 days left until the Horned Frogs face North Carolina on Aug. 29, the program is spotlighting former players whose jersey numbers match the number of days remaining. At No. 3, that means wide receiver Savion Williams and linebacker Kaleb Elarms-Orr.
Williams arrived in Fort Worth as a four-star recruit from Marshall, Texas, and spent five seasons building one of the more productive careers in recent TCU memory. He finished with 1,655 receiving yards and 14 touchdowns on 137 catches, and his biggest year came in 2024.
That season, he hauled in a career-best 60 passes for 611 yards and six scores, while also adding 322 rushing yards and six touchdowns from the “Wildfrog” formation. His development showed up year after year, and he earned All-Big 12 Honorable Mention honors in both 2023 and 2024.
That run helped land him an invitation to the Senior Bowl.
Elarms-Orr’s path to TCU started somewhere else, with the linebacker transferring in after beginning his college career at California. He had already earned All-Pac 12 Second Team recognition with the Golden Bears, and his role with the Horned Frogs grew steadily.
He rotated in during the 2024 season before moving into the starting lineup the next year. In 2025, he put together a huge stat line: 130 total tackles, 11 tackles for loss and four sacks, good enough to earn All-Big 12 First Team consideration.
He also helped TCU to wins in the New Mexico Bowl and the Alamo Bowl last year.
Both players are already on to the next level. Williams went to the Green Bay Packers in the third round of the 2025 NFL Draft, and his rookie season produced 10 receptions for 78 yards and a touchdown, plus 11 carries for 37 yards. Elarms-Orr was selected by the Buffalo Bills in the fourth round of the 2026 NFL Draft, made his preseason debut earlier this month, and is expected to make his regular season debut sometime next month.
