TCU WR Jordyn Bailey Enters Transfer Portal After Injury-Shortened Season
Transfer portal season is heating up, and TCU is already feeling the impact. Redshirt sophomore wide receiver Jordyn Bailey is reportedly on his way out after three seasons with the Horned Frogs, marking a notable departure from a program in transition.
Bailey’s name might ring a bell for TCU fans - and not just because of his bloodlines. The Denton native is the younger brother of former standout running back Emani Bailey, and he made his own mark with flashes of playmaking ability, including a highlight-reel one-handed catch during TCU’s 2024 loss to Baylor that turned heads across the Big 12.
While Bailey never fully broke out as a top option in the Horned Frogs’ offense, he carved out a solid role over his time in Fort Worth. In total, he played in 18 games across three seasons, finishing with 18 receptions for 191 yards and three touchdowns. His most productive stretch came during his freshman campaign in 2023 - Emani’s final year - when he posted 103 yards and a score on just five catches, showing early signs of his potential.
The 2024 season saw Bailey contribute more consistently, adding nine catches for 52 yards and two touchdowns. But in 2025, his momentum was derailed.
He suited up for only six games this fall, missing half the season due to injury. That setback limited his ability to build on his previous progress and likely played a role in his decision to explore new opportunities.
Despite the limited playing time this year, Bailey still brings versatility to the table. At 5-foot-10 and 180 pounds, he’s a shifty athlete who also contributed on the ground with four career rushing attempts for 73 yards and a touchdown. On special teams, he handled kick return duties, tallying 18 career returns - another dimension to his game that could appeal to programs looking for a multi-use weapon.
Bailey enters the portal with two years of eligibility remaining, giving him ample time to find a new home and make an impact elsewhere. While his TCU career may not have unfolded the way some expected, there’s no question he showed glimpses of upside - and with a clean bill of health, he could be a valuable addition wherever he lands next.
For TCU, it’s another piece of roster turnover in a college football landscape where the portal has become as much a part of the offseason as bowl games and recruiting. And for Bailey, it’s a fresh start - one that could reignite the promise he flashed early in his career.
