TCU Star Jordyn Bailey Announces Major Move Ahead of January Deadline

After battling injuries and limited playing time, TCU wide receiver Jordyn Bailey is seeking a fresh start as he prepares to enter the transfer portal.

TCU WR Jordyn Bailey Enters Transfer Portal With Two Years of Eligibility Remaining

TCU wide receiver Jordyn Bailey is officially heading to the transfer portal. The junior wideout announced his decision on social media, stating he’ll enter the portal when it opens on January 2. Bailey, who spent three seasons with the Horned Frogs, is looking for a fresh start - and he’ll have two years of eligibility to work with wherever he lands next.

In his statement, Bailey thanked his coaches for helping him grow as a player and expressed gratitude to his family for standing by him through the ups and downs. “The bonds I have built over the last three years will last a lifetime,” he wrote. “The good and bad - I will cherish every moment to the fullest.”

Bailey came into TCU with promise. A four-star recruit out of powerhouse Denton Ryan High School and the younger brother of former Horned Frogs running back Emani Bailey, Jordyn arrived with expectations. But injuries and a crowded receiver room kept him from ever fully carving out a consistent role in the offense.

This season, Bailey managed just four catches for 36 yards. Over his TCU career, he totaled 18 receptions for 191 yards and three touchdowns.

While the stat line doesn’t jump off the page, the flashes were there - quick feet, solid route-running, and the kind of field awareness that could thrive in the right system. The potential is still very real, and with two seasons left, he’ll have time to find the right fit and make an impact.

Bailey becomes the second TCU player to declare for the portal, joining reserve cornerback Jonah Martinez. Defensive end Paul Oyewale is also reportedly weighing his options, though no official decision has been made.

As for the Horned Frogs, they’ll wrap up the season in the Alamo Bowl against No. 16 USC on December 30. While Bailey won’t be suiting up for that game, his next chapter is just beginning - and there’s still plenty of football left in his story.
