TCU Signs Top Texas Tight End After Fierce Three-Team Recruiting Battle

TCU adds a promising in-state playmaker to its offense with the signing of dynamic Argyle tight end Braden Bach.

The Frogs just locked in a big target for the future. Braden Bach, the 6-foot-5, 225-pound tight end out of Argyle (TX), made it official by signing with TCU, adding another key piece to the Frogs’ 2025 recruiting class.

Bach’s commitment back in June came after a tight recruiting battle that saw TCU edge out Kansas, Kansas State, and a strong push from Georgia Tech. In the end, Fort Worth felt like home - and that feeling sealed the deal.

Bach’s rise began during his junior season, where he flashed potential with 26 catches for 247 yards and three touchdowns. But it’s what he did as a senior that really turned heads.

With 25 receptions for 417 yards and eight touchdowns, he became a go-to weapon in Argyle’s offense, helping lead the Eagles to a 12-1 record and a spot in the Class 5A Division II state quarterfinals. His ability to stretch the field and create mismatches has made him one of the more intriguing tight end prospects in the state.

He’s not just a pass-catcher, either. At 6-5, he brings the kind of frame that can develop into a true dual-threat tight end - someone who can block in the run game and be a nightmare in the red zone. That versatility is exactly what TCU is looking for as they continue to evolve their offensive identity in the Big 12.

Bach is one of two tight ends in this class for the Frogs, joining Nacari Ashley out of Navarro Junior College. Together, they bring different skill sets that could complement each other well in the coming years.

As for why he chose TCU, Bach kept it simple: “I chose TCU because I know I'll have an opportunity to compete and play as well as having a chance at the league. There really is no place like Fort Worth. It was home as soon as I stepped on campus.”

That mindset - wanting to compete, grow, and aim for the next level - fits right into what head coach Sonny Dykes and his staff are building. Tight ends coach Mitch Kirsch led the recruitment for Bach, and his efforts clearly paid off.

According to the 247Sports composite rankings, Bach is rated as the No. 86 tight end nationally and the No. 205 overall prospect in Texas. Those numbers don’t always tell the full story, though. What stands out is the trajectory - a player who’s steadily improved, produced when it mattered, and brings a high ceiling to the next level.

TCU fans should be excited about this one. Bach has the tools, the drive, and now, the opportunity. Keep an eye on him - he could be a name we’re talking about a lot more in the near future.
