TCU is getting an official visit from one of the top names in the 2027 class.
Howard Williams, a 6-foot-6, 215-pound forward from Dynamic Prep in Dallas, is set to be on campus Sept. 18. Brandon Jenkins of 247Sports first reported the visit.
Williams comes in as the No. 47 player nationally in the 2027 cycle, along with a No. 11 ranking at small forward and No. 3 in Texas. His offer sheet already includes Kentucky, Illinois, Florida State, Washington, Arizona State, Mississippi State, Oklahoma State and SMU, among others.
He was at Washington in June and also has a trip to Arizona State lined up for Aug. 21.
The Chicago native turned heads on the summer circuit with Team Haliburton at the Pro16 Finals in Bryan, Texas. He put together back-to-back 25-plus-point outings, including a 29-point game against top-seed BTI.
Jenkins described Williams this way after watching him at the event:
"With college basketball becoming older because of recent roster changes, it's more important than ever for high school prospects to arrive physically ready to compete. Team Haliburton's Howard Williams should have no issues in that regard, as he already possesses a college-ready frame to pair with an inside-out skill set.
The 6-foot-6 Illinois native, who is ranked No. 47 overall nationally, was highly efficient scoring from the perimeter while also dominating his opportunities when playing in the paint. He creates matchup problems at either forward spot, and his comfort putting the ball on the floor with purpose only adds to his versatility."
