TCU Blasts Texas Tech In Wild Run Rule Rout

TCU's explosive offense, powered by a barrage of home runs, overwhelmed Texas Tech in their series opener, setting the stage for an exciting continuation.

In Fort Worth, TCU put on an offensive showcase, launching five home runs to secure an 18-8 run-rule victory over Texas Tech. The Horned Frogs' bats were on fire, lighting up the night sky and sending a strong message to their Big 12 rivals.

The fireworks began in the third inning with Chase Brunson leading the charge. Brunson's fourth home run of the season soared 456 feet, the longest by a TCU player this year, setting the tone for an explosive inning.

Just one batter later, another solo shot cleared the batter's eye in center field, marking the first hit and home run of the season for a TCU newcomer. Jack Bell then added to the frenzy with a three-run blast, his second in two games, pushing the lead to 10-0.

The offensive barrage continued in the fifth when Sawyer Strosnider crushed his 10th home run of the season, a towering three-run shot to right field. Not to be outdone, Cole Cramer capped off the night with a two-run homer in the sixth, his first of the year, wrapping up TCU's scoring at 18 runs.

On the mound, Mason Brassfield delivered a solid performance, stifling Texas Tech's lineup over five innings. He allowed just three runs on six hits and struck out four, earning his third win of the season. Despite some late runs from the Red Raiders, Tyler Phenow and Ethan Thomas held firm, with Thomas sealing the deal for a run-rule victory.

TCU's offense is clearly firing on all cylinders, having scored 29 runs in their last two games. Strosnider has been particularly impressive, with six home runs and 20 RBIs in the past six games, but the Frogs' success is a team effort. Their top five hitters combined for a remarkable 13-for-22 at the plate, featuring a double and four home runs.

The series continues Tuesday afternoon, with TCU's Lance Davis set to face off against Texas Tech's Connor Mohan. If the Frogs maintain this level of play, they could be a formidable force in the conference.
