In a strategic move, the Syracuse Crunch have decided to loan defenseman Chris Harpur to the Orlando Solar Bears of the ECHL, as announced by General Manager and Head Coach Joel Bouchard.

Harpur, at 29, has been a solid presence on the ice, featuring in 17 games for the Crunch this season and contributing two assists. His time with the Solar Bears this season has been productive as well, with Harpur recording three assists over 10 games.

Last season, he played 13 games with Syracuse, adding three assists to his record, and appeared in 44 games with Orlando, where he notched two goals, nine assists, and boasted a plus-7 rating. Since 2021, the 6-foot-3, 200-pound defenseman has been a consistent figure in the AHL with 47 career games, all with the Crunch, accumulating nine assists.

In the ECHL, he's been a staple for the Solar Bears, playing 164 games and earning seven goals and 29 assists.

Before turning pro, Harpur showcased his skills at Niagara University, playing 161 games from 2017 to 2022 and racking up 10 goals and 48 assists.
