Vikings Secure Andrew DePaola With New One-Year Deal

Veteran long snapper Andrew DePaola secures another year with the Vikings, continuing his steady presence in Minnesota's special teams unit.

The Vikings are making moves to solidify their special teams by re-signing long snapper Andrew DePaola to a one-year deal worth $1.725 million, fully guaranteed. At 38, DePaola's journey in the NFL is a testament to perseverance and skill.

Starting his career as an undrafted free agent with the Buccaneers back in 2012, DePaola spent over five years in Tampa Bay. His path took a turn when the Buccaneers waived him at the start of the 2017 season, leading to a brief stint with the Bears after being claimed off waivers.

In 2018, DePaola inked a four-year, $4.27 million deal with the Raiders, but his time there was cut short in training camp. He found a new home with the Panthers before eventually joining the Vikings' practice squad in 2021. His hard work paid off as he was promoted to the active roster, securing the starting long-snapper position.

The Vikings showed their faith in DePaola by offering him a three-year, $4.025 million contract ahead of the 2022 season. In 2025, he proved his reliability by appearing in all 17 games for Minnesota.

DePaola's re-signing ensures stability in the Vikings' special teams unit, highlighting his valuable experience and consistency.
