Todd Bowles is now sitting where Dan Quinn started the week: at the top of the first-coach-fired board.
After Tampa Bay’s 0-2 start, BetOnline.ag moved the Buccaneers head coach to +110 to be the first dismissed in the 2026 season. Quinn, who had opened as the favorite, slid to +300 after Washington’s second straight NFC East loss and the ugly Jayden Daniels injury that sent the Commanders quarterback out of Sunday’s game against Dallas.
The line movement came Tuesday, shortly after Tampa Bay fell 23-19 at home to Cleveland and Washington lost 37-20 in Arlington. ClutchPoints first reported the updated board.
The rest of the market includes Shane Steichen at +600, Matt LaFleur at +900, Jim Harbaugh and Aaron Glenn at +1000, DeMeco Ryans at +1200, Dan Campbell at +2500 and Mike Vrabel at +2800.
Those are betting numbers, not firings. No team has announced a coaching change.
Tampa Bay’s loss was the kind that tends to nudge a coach toward the top of this sort of list. The Browns came in with a reputation for being vulnerable, but Deshaun Watson delivered one of his cleanest performances in years, going 24 of 30 for 238 yards and two touchdowns without an interception.
The game was delayed by weather at Raymond James Stadium, and by the fourth quarter the home crowd had turned restless. Baker Mayfield, against his former team, finished 21 of 34 for 182 yards, one touchdown and one interception.
The Buccaneers are 0-2 for the first time since 2014. Minnesota comes to town next, followed by Green Bay the week after that.
Washington’s slide looked different, but it hit just as hard. Daniels dislocated his left elbow on the final play of the first half against Dallas, and Quinn said X-rays showed no fracture.
The injury came after Daniels had just thrown a 4-yard touchdown pass to Stefon Diggs. He was 11 of 17 for 96 yards and had added 69 rushing yards when Chris Paul stepped on his foot and the quarterback tried to brace his fall.
The elbow bent the wrong way, and Daniels left on a cart with a towel over his head.
Marcus Mariota will start Sunday against the defending Super Bowl champion Seattle Seahawks, who have allowed 17 points through two games. Quinn’s reaction afterward was blunt: “Man, are we bummed for him,” he said, adding that the team would “rally so hard around Marcus until Jayden’s back.”
Washington already opened the season with a loss in Philadelphia, so the Commanders are 0-2 before a home date with Seattle. The market has responded to the results, not just the injury.
For Bowles, the concern is a defense that has not been forcing turnovers or getting the red-zone stops that helped keep Tampa Bay competitive in past seasons. The Buccaneers have allowed 27 points off turnovers over their first two games. For Quinn, the challenge is even more immediate: keep the offense afloat without Daniels while the defense sorts out a day in which Dak Prescott threw four touchdowns.
Neither coach has been given a public deadline. But if either team stacks another couple of losses, the pressure will spike fast.
