His fiancée, Savanna Morgan, shared her grief on Instagram, reflecting on their six years together. "You made six years feel like a lifetime, Rexy," she wrote, capturing the depth of their bond and the vibrant life they shared.

Eric Dungey, a former teammate at Syracuse, also paid tribute, remembering Culpepper as someone who embraced life with zero fear. "Thanks for all the memories, brother," Dungey posted, highlighting the indelible mark Culpepper left on those around him.

Rex was the son of Monica and Brad Culpepper, the latter a former defensive tackle for the Bucs. His younger brother, Judge, followed in his footsteps, playing as a defensive tackle at Penn State and Toledo before signing with the Bucs as an undrafted free agent in 2024.

Culpepper's football journey was nothing short of remarkable. Ranked among Florida's top-10 high school quarterbacks, he threw for over 2,100 yards and 21 touchdowns at Plant High.

His resilience shone through in 2018 when he was diagnosed with testicular cancer. Despite the disease spreading to his lymph nodes, Culpepper underwent rigorous chemotherapy and was declared cancer-free by June 2018.

In an inspiring display of determination, he played in Syracuse’s spring game while still undergoing treatment, leading his team to a touchdown on the final drive. Over his college career, Culpepper appeared in 30 games, passing for 1,546 yards and 11 touchdowns, and even switched to tight end for a period before returning to quarterback.
