Buccaneers Seem Closer Than Ever To Bringing Back A Fan Favorite

The resurgence of pewter jerseys hints at the Tampa Bay Buccaneers' plans to revive their iconic color rush uniforms by the 2026 season.

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers may have quietly given away one of their 2026 uniform plans.

After a two-year absence, the team’s all-pewter color rush look appears poised to return, and the clearest clue might be sitting right on the Buccaneers’ Fanatics team store. Pewter jerseys, which were tough to find last year, are now back in circulation for Baker Mayfield, Bucky Irving and Emeka Egbuka.

That’s a notable shift from 2025, when Tampa Bay’s 50th anniversary season led to a heavy push of the jerseys the team actually wore throughout the year. Fans could easily buy the classic home and away uniforms, plus both versions of the creamsicle throwbacks.

The pewter jerseys were still around, but mostly as custom options or for a very small group of players. That made it look like the color rush set had fallen out of production.

This year tells a different story. The pewter jerseys are readily available, while the white creamsicle throwbacks have become far less common. Only Mayfield and Irving are listed in that colorway, which suggests the remaining stock is simply left over from last season’s run.

The change lines up with reporting from Pewter Report’s Scott Reynolds, who said earlier this offseason that his sources expect the pewter color rush uniforms to come back this season, either in a preseason game or as a regular-season road alternate.

Tampa Bay still hasn’t released its official 2026 uniform schedule, but the jersey availability on the team store, combined with Reynolds’ reporting, makes the return of the pewter look seem all but certain. For a uniform that quickly won over fans after debuting in 2020, the wait appears to be nearly over.

Zac Robinson Stat Suggests The Bucs Offense Could Look Very Different

The Buccaneers offense may be headed for a noticeable shift after the team moved on from offensive coordinator Josh Grizzard and turned to Zac Robinson to run the unit in 2026. Robinson arrives from Atlanta with a reputation for leaning into the pass, especially in situations where many play callers might choose to play it safe and stay on schedule.

One of the clearest signs of that approach came on second-and-10 after a first-down incompletion, where Robinson was among the leagues most aggressive play callers last season. Tampa Bay is betting that style can translate well in a new setting, but how much of that philosophy carries over with Baker Mayfield and the rest of the offense is still something to watch. Bucs Enter 2026 With One Huge Question Hanging Over Everything

After a disappointing 2025 season, Tampa Bay heads into 2026 with the kind of uncertainty that tends to linger over a roster even when the offseason brings fresh faces. The Buccaneers still have enough talent to believe they can stay in the mix, but the bigger picture is harder to ignore: this is a team trying to prove last year was a detour, not the start of a slide.

Todd Bowles enters the year with pressure building, and the defense remains the most obvious place where the Bucs need answers after another uneven showing. If the group cant take a clear step forward and the wins dont follow, the conversation around the franchise could shift quickly from contention to what comes next, including whether Tampa Bay is forced to rethink its direction again in 2027.
