He may not have the same speed he once had earlier in his career, but he’s still the type of linebacker who helps a defense stay organized.
That matters for a Buccaneers unit trying to get back on track in 2026. The team doesn’t need to pretend one player can fully replace what David brought. Instead, Tampa Bay has added Anzalone and selected Josiah Trotter, giving itself more than one option to handle the responsibilities that used to fall on David alone.
