Syracuse’s 2026-27 ACC schedule is out, and Gerry McNamara is set to begin his league tenure with a trip to Florida State on Tuesday, Dec. 29.
That opening conference game comes after a short Christmas pause. The Orange finish non-conference play with Binghamton on Dec. 22, then head into a few days off before turning to ACC action.
McNamara won’t be the first Syracuse coach to make an ACC debut away from the Dome. Jim Boeheim’s first league game came at home, a 49-44 win over Miami on Jan.
4, 2014. Red Autry, by contrast, was thrown into the deep end with a road trip to Virginia in his first ACC game, and Syracuse lost that one 84-62 on Dec.
2, 2023.
This year’s home slate in the non-conference portion is not especially eye-catching, at least in year one under G-Mac. He wanted stronger competition away from the Dome, whether that meant true road games or neutral-site matchups, and that left the Dome schedule lighter, with nearby schools Colgate and Cornell among the headliners.
The ACC home schedule brings a little more heft. Duke comes to Syracuse on Tuesday, Jan. 5, though that game falls on a Tuesday night and arrives before the school’s spring semester begins, which will keep plenty of students away.
Virginia visits on Wednesday, Feb. 3, giving Autry a return to his old stop. Louisville and North Carolina both land on Saturday nights, with those games set for Jan.
- Georgia Tech is in the Dome on Jan. 2, followed by Boston College on Jan.
19, Stanford on Jan. 17, Pittsburgh on Feb. 23 and Wake Forest on Mar.
Stanford’s visit is part of a home-and-home this season, and the Cardinal will be in the Dome in 2027. That setup will double the all-time meetings between the schools since 2011.
Syracuse also gets a rare stretch against the Bay Area schools, with just two days between its game at Stanford on Jan. 27 and its trip to Cal on Jan. 30.
Only in the ACC’s 18-team, coast-to-coast setup does a matchup between conference members wait until the third season for one of the schools to host it. And on top of that, Syracuse will finally play a football game in Palo Alto next season for the first time as an ACC member.
Home games are listed in caps, and some contracts, TV assignments and tipoff times still need to be finalized. All times are Eastern. Syracuse’s Oct. 13 exhibition against Connecticut is set for Uncasville, Conn.
