Syracuse basketball got a strong weekend result on the recruiting trail as 2027 four-star small forward Carson Crawford helped the Florida Rebels win the Peach Jam title in Nike EYBL’s main 17U division on Sunday in North Augusta, S.C.
The Orlando, Fla.-based Florida Rebels knocked off the Dallas-based Drive Nation, 71-60, in the championship game. Cayden Daughtry, a 2027 five-star point guard, carried the scoring load with 33 points as Florida Rebels finished 4-1 in pool play before rolling into the knockout rounds on Saturday.
Crawford, who received a scholarship offer from Syracuse’s new staff under first-year head coach Gerry McNamara in late May, according to his Instagram page, also played a key role in the title run. Against Drive Nation, he posted eight points, six rebounds, two assists, one block and one steal in 25 minutes, per an EYBL box score.
For the full Peach Jam, the 6-foot-7, 180-pound forward averaged 7.9 points, 8.1 rebounds and 1.6 assists per game while shooting 55.6 percent from the field and 75.0 percent at the line. Florida Rebels finished 7-1 overall.
Crawford’s offer list, per his Instagram account, also includes Cincinnati, Jacksonville, Virginia Tech, Florida State, Florida A&M, Le Moyne, Florida Atlantic, Georgia, Providence, USF, Texas A&M and Ole Miss.
He’s a standout rising senior at Fleming Island High School in Fleming Island, Fla. As a junior in the 2025-26 season, Crawford averaged 17.2 points, 9.8 rebounds, 2.0 assists, 2.5 steals and 1.3 blocks per game while leading Fleming Island to a 23-9 record and a trip to the title game of the Florida High School Athletic Association Class 5A state playoffs, per MaxPreps.
In the 2027 class, the industry-generated 247Sports Composite ranks Crawford No. 51 overall, No. 13 among small forwards and No. 10 in Florida. The industry-generated Rivals Industry Ranking has him No. 48 nationally, No. 11 at small forward and No. 8 in the state.
