Syracuse’s recruiting board for the classes of 2027 and 2028 is already taking shape, and one of the biggest names in the mix has lined up a visit to campus.
Four-star forward Moussa Kamissoko announced on X that he plans to tour nine schools in the coming weeks, with Syracuse among the group. His trip to Central New York is scheduled for Sept. 3-4, giving the Orange an early shot at one of the top players in the Class of 2027.
Kamissoko, who plays at Long Island Lutheran, is a familiar name in Syracuse circles for another reason too. That same school produced current Orange guard Kiyan Anthony.
The recruiting battle will be a crowded one. Kamissoko also holds offers from Florida State, Virginia, Oklahoma State and Illinois, among others, and his visit list includes Syracuse, Illinois, Baylor, Oklahoma State, Louisville, UConn, BYU, Virginia and Florida State.
The rankings speak for themselves. Rivals lists Kamissoko as the No. 8 overall player in the Class of 2027, while 247 Sports has him at No. 17.
For now, though, it’s still early. Kamissoko is a rising senior and has another high school season ahead before he makes the jump to college, so there’s no clear read yet on where Syracuse stands beyond getting him on campus.
If the Orange can eventually land him, he’d become the program’s second commitment in the Class of 2027. Syracuse already picked up a pledge earlier this summer from Jack Donahue, a 6-foot-8 Albany native who profiles as a strong outside shooter.
And while Kamissoko would come in as a high school recruit, Syracuse is expected to keep balancing that pipeline with help from the transfer portal.
Meanwhile, Gerry McNamara and several current Orange players will be back at one of their former stops this fall, with Syracuse set to play an exhibition game against Siena.

Syracuse fans are about to see a new look inside the JMA Wireless Dome, with Progressive Insurance and Syracuse Athletics announcing a sponsorship agreement that puts the companys logo on the field starting this season. The partnership will also show up through in-game video features, LED signage around the building and digital and social media integrations, with the rollout beginning at Syracuse footballs season opener against New Hampshire.
It is part of a broader program involving 12 other schools, but for Orange supporters the change lands in one of the programs most visible spaces. The Dome has long been a home-field centerpiece, and now it is headed into the fall with a corporate mark stitched into the game-day picture, a shift that will be easy to notice the first time fans walk in. Fran Brown Has Syracuse In Position With Intriguing New Jersey Athlete
Syracuse has gotten in early with another promising New Jersey prospect, offering Burlington City High athlete Julian Corry his first football scholarship and immediately putting itself in the mix as his recruiting profile starts to take shape. Corry, a 2028 player who is currently projected as an edge rusher, has also stood out on the basketball court, making him the kind of versatile talent college staffs like to identify before the rest of the country catches up.
Corry plans to visit campus in September, giving him a chance to spend time around Fran Browns staff and get a closer look at the program. He said he is excited to meet the coaches and learn more about Syracuse, which is exactly the sort of early connection Brown has tried to build as he works to widen the Oranges footprint in the Northeast.
