Syracuse basketball is lining up another important recruiting stop, with 2027 four-star power forward Ian Condon scheduled to take an official visit to the Orange from September 1 to September 2.
The 6-foot-7, 245-pound Condon, a standout from the Washington, D.C. to Baltimore corridor, picked up a scholarship offer from Syracuse in May. Now he’s set to get a closer look at the program under first-year head coach Gerry McNamara, and he appears to be one of the staff’s top priorities in the rising high school senior class.
Condon has been one of the most productive players on Nike’s EYBL circuit this spring and summer while playing for the 17U Team Melo squad based in Baltimore. Syracuse coaches were in Las Vegas this past weekend for a live period and watched several targets, including Condon. At Sidwell Friends School in Washington, D.C., he averaged about 20 points per game as a junior.
His AAU numbers have been strong, too. Through the current season, Team Melo is 10-5, and Condon is putting up 18.8 points, 6.7 rebounds, 1.3 assists and 1.1 steals per game while shooting 44.5 percent from the field, 40.8 percent from beyond the arc and 83.0 percent at the line.
That kind of production has already built out a deep offer sheet. Condon’s list includes N.C.
State, Boston College, Belmont, Siena, UCF, Saint Joseph’s, Virginia Tech, American, Villanova, California, Notre Dame and Northwestern. With the way he’s been playing, it wouldn’t be a surprise if more schools jump in.
Syracuse has more 2027 visits on the calendar, too. Four-star point guard J’Lon Lyons is set to visit from September 11 to September 13, with SU football hosting California on Saturday, Sept.
- Four-star big man Ahmed Nur also plans to visit the Orange, though a date has not yet been set.
The Orange staff has been active across the class, and Condon is among a group of prospects worth tracking closely. Others on that list include five-star wing/small forward Moussa Kamissoko, four-star shooting guard RJ Moore, four-star small forward Carson Crawford, wing Jack Donohue, five-star center Lewis Uvwo and four-star power forward Zion Green, who took an unofficial visit to the Hill last August.
