Michigan commit Sidney Rouleau made his way to Syracuse football this past weekend, giving the Orange a look from one of the top offensive tackle prospects in the 2027 class.
A source confirmed to Inside the Loud House that Rouleau, a Canadian product verbally committed to Michigan, took an official visit to Syracuse. Rouleau also signaled the trip on his Instagram page with photos from the weekend.
The 6-foot-6, 275-pound lineman is originally from Gatineau, Quebec. He verbally pledged to the Wolverines in late March, and his X page shows Syracuse extended an offer on March 29, 2024.
Rouleau posted at the time: "After a Great conversation with @Coach_E_Rob I am blessed to get an offer from Syracuse University Go big orange 🍊 @MikeWakins @FranBrownCuse @CuseFootball @adamgorney @BrianDohn247 D.A.R.T🎯 pic.twitter.com/fMIRpu1xxB"
Now a senior at the Brook Hill School in Bullard, Texas, Rouleau carries strong national recognition. ESPN lists him as the No. 254 prospect in the 2027 class, the No. 25 offensive tackle and the No. 34 player in Texas.
The 247Sports Composite has him at No. 577 overall, No. 52 among offensive tackles and No. 76 in Texas. Rivals’ Industry composite ranks him No. 583 nationally, No. 48 at offensive tackle and No. 75 in Texas.
Rouleau was one of several commits and targets around Syracuse over the weekend as the Orange welcomed a busy recruiting crowd for game day.
Syracuse had a number of verbal pledges and recruits on hand Saturday at the JMA Wireless Dome, where the Orange rallied to upset then-No. 19 SMU, 30-27. SU is now 4-4 overall and 2-4 in ACC play, and Clemson comes to town this Saturday afternoon.
Among the 2027 commits expected at the game were four-star running back Elijah Kimble of Canisius High School in Buffalo, N.Y., three-star defensive lineman Jason Lewis of Osceola High School in Kissimmee, Fla., three-star edge Bradyn Paulozzi of St. Edward High School in Lakewood, Ohio, and three-star wide receiver Noah Collins-Howard of Rush-Henrietta Senior High School in Henrietta, N.Y.
Four-star offensive tackle Omari Lawson, a 2028 Syracuse verbal pledge from Zarephath Academy in Jacksonville, Fla., was also there for the win over SMU.
The Orange also expected several recruiting targets for the ACC matchup, including 2028 three-star cornerback/athlete James Brumfield II of James Monroe High School in Rochester, N.Y., 2028 four-star defensive lineman Arthur Jones IV of Christian Brothers Academy in Syracuse, N.Y., 2028 four-star offensive tackle Ty Winn of Monsignor Bonner & Archbishop Prendergast Catholic High School in Drexel Hill, Pa., 2028 three-star quarterback Anthony Smith of Fairmont Senior High School in Fairmont, W. Va., and 2029 three-star cornerback/athlete Keyon Ali of Camden High School in Camden, N.J.

Syracuse Opens Gerry McNamara Era With One Early Concern In Focus
Syracuse opens the Gerry McNamara era with a matchup that should offer a clear first look at what this new chapter can look like, and what still needs cleaning up. The Orange meet New Haven for the first time, with Syracuse carrying the edge in size and defense against a program that has only recently moved up to Division I and has already had to remake its roster after losing its top three scorers to transfers.
For Syracuse, the bigger storyline may be less about the opponent and more about how crisp the Orange can look in the early going. Key players are expected to shape the game, but the staff will also be watching the turnover issues that surfaced in exhibition play, a reminder that even in a favorable opener there is still plenty to sort out before the schedule tightens. Syracuse Just Entered Another Intriguing Recruitment Tied To A Familiar Pipeline
Syracuse has added another name to its early recruiting board, extending a scholarship offer to 2028 four-star center Miguel Sousa. The 6-foot-11 prospect at Spire Academy already has a growing list of suitors, with Ohio State, BYU and Ole Miss also in the mix, and his background traces back to Valencia Basket Club in Spain, a program that has become a familiar source of talent for the Orange.
The offer fits the broader pattern around Gerry McNamaras recruiting push, which has already included 2027 verbal commit Moussa Kamissoko and other top prospects. For Syracuse, the appeal goes beyond one player or one class, as the staff continues to work a pipeline that has brought international development and high-level size into the conversation early. Syracuse Just Found An Unexpected Edge In Close Games
Syracuses upset of SMU offered another reminder that the Orange have found a reliable answer in the middle of the field, and it came from a position group that has steadily become one of the offenses most useful tools. On the game-winning drive, multiple tight ends came through with critical catches, a sequence that fit the broader arc of the 2026 season as David Clement, Daunte Bacheyie and Noah Myers have each carved out meaningful roles in the offense.
Under Fran Brown, the tight end room has gone from complementary piece to genuine strength, giving Syracuse a different kind of edge when games tighten up. The development of Clement, Bacheyie and Myers has added depth and flexibility to the passing game, and the way they showed up in a pressure moment against SMU only reinforced how important that group has become to what the Orange are building.
