The EYBL Scholastic is getting even bigger, and Syracuse basketball is tied into plenty of the best talent in the country.
The Nike Elite Youth Basketball League Scholastic will have 15 member institutions in the 2026-27 season, giving the Orange a built-in stage to track several recruiting targets against elite competition. At least seven of those schools feature players Syracuse is actively chasing, so this is not just a powerhouse league - it’s a recruiting map.
Here are the EYBL Scholastic programs set for 2026-27:
AZ Compass Prep School in Chandler, Ariz. ; CIA Bella Vista in Phoenix; Dream City Christian School in Glendale, Ariz.
; Faith Family Academy in Dallas; Iowa United Prep in Des Moines, Iowa; La Lumiere School in La Porte, Ind. ; Long Island Lutheran High School in Brookville, N.Y.
; Masters Academy International in Stow, Mass. ; Monarch Academy in Kansas City, Kan.
; Montverde Academy in Montverde, Fla. ; Oak Hill Academy in Mouth of Wilson, Va.
; St. James Academy in Springfield, Va.
; Tennessee Collegiate Academy in Millington, Tenn. ; Veritas Academy in Santa Fe Springs, Calif.; and Wasatch Academy in Mount Pleasant, Utah.
A few of those schools stand out immediately for Syracuse followers.
At AZ Compass Prep, Zion Green is headed in as a 2027 four-star forward. The new Syracuse staff under first-year head coach Gerry McNamara has re-offered Green, who took an unofficial visit to Syracuse in late August of last year.
CIA Bella Vista may have the deepest Orange footprint. Syracuse has offered four players there for 2026-27: 2027 five-star wing/forward Ahmed Nur, 2028 four-star forward Isaiah Clarke, 2028 five-star point guard Liam Mitakaro and 2028 four-star forward Settimo Yugu. Nur is a priority target in the 2027 class, and he is scheduled to take an official visit to Syracuse in late August.
Iowa United Prep is another key stop. Malik Moore, a 2028 four-star point guard, recently said he is transferring from Union Catholic High School in Scotch Plains, N.J., to Iowa United Prep.
Since the 2028 contact period opened on June 15, Moore has heard from Syracuse’s coaching staff. As was posted on July 26, 2026, Moore ranks No. 26 in the class and has four high-major offers.
La Lumiere brings another big name into the mix in Devin Cleveland. Syracuse offered the 2027 four-star point guard in July, and on Thursday he revealed a top seven that includes the Orange. Inside the Loud House expects Cleveland to take an official visit to Syracuse at some point.
Long Island Lutheran is home to Moussa Kamissoko, a 2027 five-star wing/small forward who was first offered by the former Syracuse staff under then-head coach Adrian Autry in late December 2024. Inside the Loud House says Kamissoko is a priority target for the Orange in this class, and the Syracuse staff is working to get him on campus for a visit.
Masters Academy International, one of the newer EYBL Scholastic members, will feature Kevin Wheatley Jr., a 2028 five-star wing. Syracuse has re-offered him, and he took an unofficial visit to the Hill last December.
Montverde, as always, is loaded. The Eagles, led by head coach and DMV legend Steve Turner, have 2028 five-star wing Isaiah Hamilton and fellow 2028 five-star wing Xavier Skipworth on the roster. Syracuse is pursuing Hamilton, while Skipworth has heard from the new Orange staff since June 15.

Syracuse Camp Opens With One Huge Steve Angeli Question
Training camp has brought the usual mix of optimism and uncertainty to Syracuse, but the biggest storyline is at the most important position on the field. The Orange are getting their work in for a Sept. 5 season opener against New Hampshire while sorting through a roster that still has some clear strengths, especially in the secondary, where preseason-recognized names like Chris Peal and Demetres Samuel Jr. give the defense a proven backbone.
The offensive side, though, still has a lingering question mark at quarterback as Steve Angeli works his way back into the conversation after the injury that ended his season. Syracuse also has to settle into a new rhythm at running back after Yasin Willis moved on, and junior Jamie Tremble is one of the more intriguing players to watch as camp unfolds and roles begin to take shape.
