Syracuse Football Lands in Top Five for Rising WR Javien Robinson

Syracuse football takes a major step forward in its 2027 recruiting push as top wide receiver Javien Robinson locks in an official visit.

Syracuse football is making serious moves on the 2027 recruiting trail, and one name that continues to rise to the top of their board is Javien Robinson - a four-star wide receiver out of McKeesport, Pennsylvania. Robinson, who’s already familiar with the Orange program after multiple visits, has now locked in an official visit to Syracuse from June 12 to June 14. He’s also included the Orange in his trimmed-down top five, alongside Miami, West Virginia, Pittsburgh, and Rutgers.

This isn’t a new courtship. Syracuse offered Robinson back in November 2024, and since then, the relationship has only strengthened - especially with wide receivers coach Josh Gattis playing a key role in building that connection.

Robinson was on campus again just a few weeks ago for SU’s junior day on January 24, when he took in the Orange basketball game against Miami at the JMA Wireless Dome. That kind of sustained engagement speaks volumes about how serious both sides are.

Robinson isn’t just another name on the board - he’s a legit talent. At 6-foot-2 and 192 pounds, he brings size, physicality, and production.

He stars for McKeesport Area Senior High School, a program with a strong football pedigree just outside Pittsburgh. In 2025, McKeesport went 9-4 and made it all the way to the WPIAL Class 4A title game.

Robinson played a major role in that run and has already earned two All-Conference selections.

Recruiting services are taking notice. 247Sports ranks him as the No. 145 overall prospect in the 2027 class, the No. 22 wide receiver, and the No. 8 player in Pennsylvania.

The 247Sports Composite, which blends multiple rankings, has him at No. 279 nationally, No. 38 at wideout, and No. 12 in the state. No matter how you slice it, Robinson is one of the more intriguing pass-catching prospects in the Northeast.

Syracuse isn’t putting all its eggs in one basket, either. The Orange are casting a wide net at wide receiver in this cycle, targeting several high-profile names.

That includes five-star Nick Lennear from Miami and another Pittsburgh-area standout, four-star Khalil Taylor, who has an official visit scheduled for June 19-21. While Lennear hasn’t locked in a visit just yet, conversations are ongoing.

What’s clear is that Fran Brown and his staff are building something with real momentum. With eight verbal commits already in the fold, Syracuse’s 2027 recruiting class currently sits at No. 7 in the nation.

That’s not just a number - it’s a statement. And if they can land a playmaker like Robinson, it would be another big swing in the right direction for a program that’s aggressively reshaping its future.
